Filene's Department Store
Former department store in Boston, MassachusettsFilene's Department Store is a former department store building in the Downtown Crossing shopping district in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. It was designed by Daniel Burnham for Abraham Lincoln Filene and Edward Filene, and opened in 1912. It was the flagship store of the Filene's department store chain, was acquired by Federated Department Stores in 2005, and closed in favor of the adjacent, Federated-owned Macy's store in 2006. The building has since been incorporated into the base of the Millennium Tower residential skyscraper, and the original space has been renovated into offices for Arnold Worldwide and Havas, and retail space for Primark and Roche Bros.
